Printable Flashcards, Front and Back Lined Up

Type your cards, press print, cut. Every deck prints eight cards to a sheet, with each answer placed exactly behind its question so a double-sided print comes out right. Free, with no signup and no watermark.

Add your cards, then use Print on the deck. Already have cards in Quizlet? Paste the export in the editor.

Sheet 1, front: questions

Sheet 1, back: answers

Each sheet holds eight cards in two columns and four rows, so every card is about 3.6 × 2.4 inches, a little smaller than a 3×5 index card. The answer side is printed with the columns swapped (card 1's answer sits on the right), because when you turn a sheet over on its long edge, left and right trade places. Fronts and backs alternate page by page: page 1 is sheet 1's questions, page 2 is sheet 1's answers, and so on.

How to print double-sided

  1. Open your deck and press Print (or use a ready-made set's print now link above).
  2. In the print dialog, choose Two-sided and Flip on long edge (sometimes called long-edge binding). Keep the orientation Portrait and the scale at 100% or Default; do not choose Fit to page if it shrinks one side more than the other.
  3. Print one sheet first and hold it up to a light: the card borders on the two sides should line up. If they do, print the rest.
No two-sided printing?

Print only the odd pages (the fronts). Put the printed stack back in the tray, turned over along its long edge, and print the even pages (the backs). Which way up the paper goes back in depends on your printer, so mark the top corner of one test sheet with a pencil before you run the whole deck.

Paper and cutting

PaperHow it works for flashcards
Regular copy paper (20–24 lb)Fine for a quick drill. Thin enough that the answer can show through, so hold the card against something dark or use the cards for self-checking only.
Heavier paper (28–32 lb)Noticeably less show-through and still feeds through almost any printer.
Cardstock (65–110 lb cover)Feels like a real index card and holds up to shuffling. Many home printers handle the lighter end through a rear or manual feed tray; check your printer's paper-weight limit first.

A paper trimmer gives the cleanest cards: cut the sheet in half down the middle first, then across at the three row lines. Scissors work too; the printed borders are your guide.

Questions people ask

Is it really free? Yes. Printing, import and sharing are all free, with no signup and no watermark on the printout.

Can I print flashcards on A4 paper? Yes. The layout fits inside both US Letter and A4 with standard margins; pick your paper size in the print dialog.

Can I print just one side? Yes: print the odd pages only to get question cards, or the even pages only for an answer key.

Can I add pictures? Not yet. Cards are text, which keeps them fast to type and easy to read when printed.
